Welcome to Troop 993's website! Troop 993 was chartered in 1958 by the Wesley United Methodist Church and has been proudly serving the community for over 50 years! The troop meets every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, located at 8412 Richmond Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22309. Troop 993 subscribes to the three aims of Scouting: Teaching boys values, citizenship and physical fitness. Additionally, the troop actively provides service to the community. We strongly adhere to the boy-run, boy-led troop philosophy, with adult leaders acting as mentors and advisors. Please sign up online if you are attending the Troop campout at Prince William Forest, and don't forget to fill out the Permission Slip: https://forms.gle/1PoyamaEpzoFk9a7A. This is a great cool/cold weather campout to build skills and camping knowledge, sign off rank requirements, earn awards, eat great food and catch up with friends around the campfire.

There will be a Lock-in on Saturday Nov 22 at the Church Hall to build the schedule for the next year. Please sign up online if you can attend. If you can't stay overnight, just come for dinner and the planning session. See the calendar event for the details and Permission Slip (for those staying overnight).

To request a Board of Review or a Scoutmaster Conference at an upcoming Troop Meeting, please email gstevenson@gmail.com (and CC Mr. Rusten at mwrusten@hotmail.com and a parent/guardian) to make the request. Be sure to say which rank you are working on and the date on which you would like the Board or Conference. Parents - please allow (or assist) your scout to make these arrangements, vice you making the arrangements, so they get the opportunity.
