Welcome to Troop 993's website! Troop 993 was chartered in 1958 by the Wesley United Methodist Church and has been proudly serving the community for over 50 years! The troop meets every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, located at 8412 Richmond Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22309. Troop 993 subscribes to the three aims of Scouting: Teaching boys values, citizenship and physical fitness. Additionally, the troop actively provides service to the community. We strongly adhere to the boy-run, boy-led troop philosophy, with adult leaders acting as mentors and advisors. AOL Woods Campout

The Troop will host local AOLs at Coast Guard unit (7323 Telegraph Rd, Alexandria, VA 22315) for a weekend of scouting and fun. We need more scouts to sign up! Even if you can only make it for Saturday, please come out and help run this fun activity!

A reminder that as it is now after Labor Day that we meet in Class A uniform (neckerchief optional) for our Troop meetings. Closed toed shoes are also required.

Adult Help Needed

The Troop is looking for an adult to lead our Recruiting efforts with the local Cub Scout Packs and schools. A Committee Secretary to take notes at the Committee meetings and to help with some of the administrative tasks is also needed. Philmont 2025 - Payment Schedule

The third Philmont payment is due by Sep 23. Please pay $450 by Check or PayPal. We need to collect these funds to be able to make a mandatory payment to Philmont at the end of September. Additional payments will be due as follows: $500 by 1/27/25; $500 by 2/24/25; $500 by 4/7/25; and remaining balance after trip.
